A young male patient reported with a chief complaint of proclination with spacing in the upper arch and crowding of teeth in the lower arch.

DIAGNOSIS:

A detailed clinical examination diagnosed the patient with Angles Class 2 Division 1 malocclusion with proclined upper anterior proclination and spacing. The lower arch had crowding, and lip incompetence was observed.

A comprehensive treatment plan was prepared. This favored a non-extraction approach with the use of Inter-Proximal Reduction (IPR) in the lower arch to achieve the desired treatment outcomes.

REFINEMENT PHASE:

Along with this, a removable retainer was advised to be worn for one year to prevent the teeth from moving back. This two-part plan helped protect the results and keep the patient’s smile looking great for the long term.
